What is this Thing?
My desk was recently vacated by a supposedly lovely woman. I inherited all of her desk supplies, pens, pencils, stapler and the like. There is a lovely caddy to hold all of these items and one more.
To my untrained eye it looks remarkably like a thimble. Except for a few strange details. To begin with it is about twice the size of a normal thimble. It is made of very soft plastic. It is flesh colored. All of these things lead me to believe that it is not a thimble, but that begs the question, What the hell is it?
The plastic is too thin and too soft to be of any use as a protective item.
It is flesh colored, leading me to think it may be camouflaged in some way. Yet it is covered with small bumps.
There are a few well placed holes, the same size as the bumps, but only on one side.
There is a serial number of some kind but no other insignia or brands, giving me no clue.
I don’t know what it is, and I would put a picture up, but I cant do a google image search if I don’t know its name. “take a picture of it” you say? Well that is a smashing idea except for 3 things. 1. I gave my brother my camera because it is the only coolpix of the three we own that hasn’t crapped out with lens errors. 2. my camera phone would work except that once again I am not entirely sure what I did with the gizmo that transfers pictures. 3. I don’t want to allocate too much time to this weird thing.
But it certainly has piqued my interest.
