Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk

The fabulous musician Rufus Wainwright has a song called Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk. For those of you not familiar with dear Rufus, he sang the “Hallelujah” song in the first Shrek movie.

A coworker just got back from a trip to Ireland. People kept asking her what Guinness tasted like and she kept saying it tasted like Chocolate Milk. I’m not sure I believe that. For one thing, Guinness must have some hops in it, that’s kind of what makes beer beer. So at the very least it would be bitter Chocolate Milk. And the point of Chocolate milk is to have something sweet, not something bitter.

She was also wondering why some of the sheep she saw in Ireland had blue paint on them and I filled her in. When it gets to be that time of the year, shepherds put a sack of paint around the rams’ necks. That way when an ewe has a paint mark on their back they know which ewes will be bearing lambs. Apparently this is information that not too many people know, because I was hailed as knowledgeable regarding animal husbandry. High praise indeed.

Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk,
These are just a couple of my cravings.
